I a Resident- Grace Z I have been a Resident here for two years. I was here a short while before I moved in. This is a nice place, so the second time I came I made it my home because I knew I couldn’t live be myself anymore. So I moved back in and I like the staff, activity director and residents are just like family. They encourage us and I like that. We have activities morning and afternoon. Ashley is wonderful about planning and Helen and Lyla are very helpful by helping. I love to make people feel welcome because I was welcomed by staff here. I always tell people if they need to stay somewhere I tell them about Barberton Post Acute. It’s like a family run place. God Bless everyone here and everyone coming to stay.

My mom was in this facility for six weeks and I can’t say anything but good. My mom received great care from therapy PT, OT and speech therapy and the nurses were kind and attentive to my mom. They treated our mom as if she was theirs.

As the Admissions Director at Barberton Post Acute, I recently had the unique experience of also being a patient here for nearly three weeks after breaking my ankle in three places. Due to my injury, returning home safely was not an option at the time. The hospital initially recommended an inpatient rehabilitation facility because, at 36 years old, they did not feel a skilled nursing facility would be the best fit. However, I confidently chose Barberton Post Acute because I already knew the quality of care our team provides. I knew the nursing staff would take excellent care of me, therapy would help me regain my strength and mobility, and our residents would make me feel welcome. From the moment I arrived, that is exactly what happened. Although I was in significant pain, I immediately felt the warmth, compassion, and support of everyone around me. The environment was incredibly welcoming and made a difficult situation much easier to navigate. A special thank you to Grace, our Resident Vice President, and the Activities Department for making sure I was always included and engaged. Grace quickly became my “wheelchair buddy” and is truly one of the most welcoming residents you could ever meet. The nursing staff consistently went above and beyond. They were always available when I needed assistance, and many team members stopped by just to check on me and see how I was doing. Their kindness and genuine concern meant so much during my recovery. The therapy team was outstanding. They challenged me every day while keeping me focused on my ultimate goal—returning home safely. One of my biggest fears was navigating stairs. I worried that one wrong move could result in another injury or even additional surgery. Through their encouragement, expertise, and patience, they helped me build the confidence I needed. Before I knew it, I was successfully completing 20 stairs—something I never thought I could do when I first arrived. Experiencing Barberton Post Acute as both an employee and a patient gave me an even greater appreciation for the exceptional care provided here every day. I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for helping me recover and regain my independence. I highly recommend Barberton Post Acute to anyone in need of skilled nursing care or rehabilitation services. Thank you all for everything you do. ❤️

This is an older building and the wear and tear is visible, but it is kept spotlessly clean. The nurses, aides, and therapists were all great. The residents seem happy and were often to be found chatting and laughing with the staff at the nurses’ desk. This is, by far, the most cheerful and friendliest medical facility I’ve ever visited. Dad even liked the food! The only negative experience we had was with the discharge planning – he was sent home with no durable medical equipment in place and no in-home care scheduled.
